An internal combustion engine car consists of over 1,000 parts, many of which need to be marked and tracked. An electric car consists of only 200 parts, but most of these parts are marked with 2D code or human-readable text.

Electric cars still need a VIN number for tracking, warranty and fraud protection. Both electric and throttle typically have a suspension system that includes shocks and struts, power steering rack, wheels, hydraulic braking system, body panels, bumpers and airbag systems marked for tracking and traceability.

Batteries
Batteries are an essential component in every electric car. They store energy and can be recharged. Each battery or battery cell is marked with a code for tracking. It is important to know when it was manufactured, what the charge capacity will be, and where the battery was manufactured. In an electric vehicle with 85kWh power, 7,104 batteries will be billed, each with a code for monitoring.

Engine
Depending on the manufacturer, the motor includes many parts that may need to be tracked such as stator, rotor, drive shaft, windings, armature, bearings, coils and housing. The inverter connected to the motor will convert the DC power of the batteries to AC power for the motor. The inverter contains sensitive electronic components. Chips, circuits and circuit boards are marked for monitoring and replacement. The aluminum enclosure of the inverter is marked several times for identification.
